CT scan pitfalls and angiography’s role in juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma: A case report

Diagnosis to treatment of Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma (JNA) required a multidisciplinary approach. CT scan works by combining multi-slice imaging from device that rotates around the object. The potential missing certain parts in scanning process can occur. Angiography was option cover pitfalls. In this case, we discussed pitfalls be overcome angiography through JNA case report showing clearer picture and its feeding artery. 14 years old child complained nasal congestion. On physical examination, lesion expanded anterior side cavity. patient underwent synonasal without contrast. It obtained heterogeneous solid mass nasopharynx extending concha right left maxillary sinuses. However, until preparation angiography, actual size tumor, as well entire vasculature, is not yet known. angiographic features suggested (seen artery) more dominant than side. both finding reassured tumor location posterior also seen but did predominate comparison anterior. These findings helped clinicians planning operative action order evacuate tumor.
